The tin note upon first popping the lid might seem odd at first, especially if you're used to the overpowering smell of sweeter aromatics, but you will be rewarded in full for giving it a shot and if you're like me will always look forward to your next bowl. Although HH Matured Virgina is definitely not for this smoker, it's a heck of a lot better in the pipe than in the tin, and, judging by its popularity, this may be just the one for you. I'll give it a few more bowls and then re-post, but until then, I would advise the experienced Va smoker away from this product unless they are seeking Orlik Golden Navy Mix, cuz that's what this amounts to. Nice brights, settles down quickly. Could use a little more nicotine strength for me, but otherwise I can recommend HH to anyone wanting a first Virginia experience or as myself, a change of pace from stronger blends. A little heavier on the MB products than I might have expected! I have not let that most unusual introduction stop me.
But honestly, I think this HH Macbaren flake is even better.
Mac Baren HH Mature Virginia
Strength builds gently toward medium; likewise the tastes. My lighter's only needed if it's not puffed often enough. I prefer softer, lighter, pressed flakes. It remains a bit too light in taste and body, although it has a nice complexity. Tasty virginia, ripe, sweet and heady. Edit this tobacco Favorite Wishlist Subscribed. Not as strong as the Pease, but perhaps stronger than astely's or the Wessex.
